Research
As well as providing services, the CRC also carries out research investigating how to improve the lives of people with disabilities. This is done through academic papers, as well as through projects. The research covers a wide range of areas, including gait research, mobility, education, assistive technology and design-for-all. The CRC also offers the Ciaran Barry scholarship, supporting students carrying out research in the area of disability.
The Technology and Research department of the CRC provides research support to CRC departments.
This includes the following:
- Advice and guidance in the formulation of research / project questions
- A mentoring service for CRC staff and external students who are working on disability research projects.
- Advice and guidance on the managing th research / project process and the identification of sources of funding.
- Advice and guidance in the use of Statistical Analysis procedures
- Access to a "Survey Design" service
- Assistance with "literature searching" and the process of ordering items of interest
This department aims to provide the CRC with the best support in carrying out research relevant to people with disabilities.
