Photo of 2 women at a desk talkingThe Social Work Department have developed a range of family support services for children, families and adults who attend the CRC. The service works in partnership with families and recognises the family as the child’s most important resource. The focus and purpose of the department is closely linked to the overall mission of the CRC which is to empower adults and children with physical disabilities to achieve their maximum potential and integration in our society.

The Social Workers have training in helping people with problems and difficulties and the focus of the work is on both practical and emotional support.

The department provides the following services:

  • Counselling and support
  • Parent and Toddler group
  • Information / Coffee Mornings
  • Parenting Programmes
  • Home respite service for children
  • Holidays and Respite breaks for Adults
  • Information on Entitlements and Services
  • Advocacy and referral to Dublin City Council, Community Welfare Officers, Home Help Services, Personal Assistance Schemes
  • Support through any crisis that may arise.
