ESS Knowledge Series – 21st October 2021

We are delighted to introduce the European Seating Symposium’s exciting new Knowledge Series of interactive webinars offering an in-depth focus on key topics for clinicians working in the field of seating and wheeled mobility, as well as acute and community-based healthcare settings, including disability and rehabilitation services.

We are pleased to share with you details of this series of advanced educational webinars that will provide clinicians with up-to-date evidence-based learning, aimed at advancing knowledge and skills that can easily translate into and enhance daily practice.
The webinar topics include Pressure Ulcer Prevention and Management, Custom Contoured Seating, and Spinal Cord Injury-associated complications and implications for Seating and Assistive Technology.


Occupational therapists, physiotherapists, clinical and rehabilitation engineers, nurses, suppliers of seating and wheeled mobility devices, students and professionals working in a range of healthcare settings.

Each webinar will consist of a 60-minute presentation followed by time for discussion and questions.

All attendees will be provided with a certificate of attendance for each webinar.



Spinal Cord Injury: Associated Complications and Implications for Seating and Assistive Technology

21st October 2021 14:00 – 15:30

Our final webinar in this series will focus on spinal cord injury and will cover all aspects of associated complications and implications for seating and assistive technology. This webinar will include considerations for product parameter selection and alternative drive controls appropriate for people with cervical-level spinal cord injury and will be presented by Elaine Wynne, Occupational Therapist who worked at the George Pearson Centre in Vancouver, Canada, before joining the team at the Assistive Technology and Specialised Seating Department at the CRC Dublin.
