Hand therapy clinic

If you have difficulties with your arms or hands because of muscle tone or involuntary movement, the specialist hand therapy team from occupational therapy and physiotherapy can provide assessment and recommendations for you.

Treatments include

  • Specific hand therapy
  • Home activity programmes
  • Splinting
  • Lycra garments

Our goals are to

  • Improve the practical use of your hand or arm
  • Provide a continuous stretch to your muscles
  • Prevent or reduce contracture

Recommendations are sent to your local occupational therapist and physiotherapist for follow up.

If the hand therapy team decides that you need orthopaedic advice and input, it will refer you to the upper limb orthopaedic clinic.
