Intrathecal baclofen therapy (ITB) clinic

ITB therapy is a method of delivering medication to control constant or unwanted muscle tension.

A medical device called an intra-thecal pump delivers very small quantities of medication into your spinal fluid. This requires a surgical procedure which is carried out in Beaumont Hospital by a consultant neurosurgeon.

You will be fully assessed by the ITB team from physiotherapy, occupational therapy and medical neuro-disability team. Once the pump is in place you will be reviewed regularly at both CRC and Beaumont Hospital.
