Why are Routines important?

Our everyday routines give meaning and structure to our days. This is enabled through our:
· Roles (mother, father, sister, brother, carer etc)
· Habits (the way we respond and perform actions in a certain way), and
· Routines (repeated ways of doing things)

The kinds of things that we do, why and how we do them, and what we think and feel about them, all come about from influences of routine, the environment, and participating in meaningful occupations (play/work, self-care, school/work) that we engage in on a daily basis in different environments.
