Health and Safety Officer

Grade V11 (Code 0582), One Year Fixed Term Contract, 35hrs. per week, Monday to Friday.

The post holder will report to the Head of Quality, Risk & Safety. The post holder will have responsibility for all CRC sites and locations, ensuring effective systems for the health and wellbeing of staff and clients are in place and in line with safety legislative requirements. The role involves the development, implementation, monitoring and audit of health and safety and risk management systems organisationally, and where necessary working with management and staff proactively to ensure solutions are identified as issues arise.

Applicants for this position should have the following essential criteria:
Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:
• Hold a Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) Level 8 (or higher) major academic
award (e.g. Honours Degree or Higher Diploma) in Health and Safety, or other relevant
area (that is, a qualification or cognate degree accredited by Institute of Occupational
Safety and Health (IOSH) for membership at Graduate or higher level).

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an Occupational Health and Safety Officer / Advisor
role, or a similar relevant role.
• Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of
suitability and management ability, for the proper discharge of the office.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.
• Full driving license and access to a car.
