Speech and Language Therapist

Based in CRC Lead Agency Children’s Disability Network Team, Waterford The CRC Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNT) will be providing intervention to children from the age of 0-18 years, presenting with complex developmental needs requiring inter-disciplinary intervention.

Our services are based upon a Family Centered Practice Model in line with the Progressing Disability Services. The CRC is the Lead Agency for the CDNT based in Waterford South City.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a dynamic team. CRC also welcomes applications from candidates who are eligible for CORU Registration or who are awaiting final exam results and will be eligible for CORU registration in the coming months.

If successful at interview, pending your Professional Registration, you could initially be appointed to an assistant grade post. This would allow you the opportunity to learn on the job and access training in advance of your appointment to Speech and Language Therapist.

We currently have a permanent vacancy on our team. This position represents exciting opportunities to work as part of a dynamic, interdisciplinary team:

• Permanent Post – 1 WTE/35 hours per week;

The successful candidate will have the following essential requirements;

• Have or be awaiting results of an accredited Speech and Language Therapy qualification and current registration or eligibility for registration with CORU

. • Interest in and/or clinical experience or clinical placement experience working in disability services.

• Excellent communication, initiative, and time management skills.

• Flexibility and teamwork skills which are key to this role. Desirable requirements:

• 6 months post qualification clinical experience working in disability services

• Full driver’s license and access to car

• Experience working with children with autism, physical disabilities and/or intellectual disabilities

 

It must be clearly demonstrated in your CV and supporting statement how you meet the required skills, competencies and knowledge for the post.

Department of Health Salary Scale apply, Speech & Language Therapy scale €40,325 - €58,483).

A panel will be created from this campaign from which current and future permanent, specified purpose, whole- time and part-time posts for the CRC Children’s Disability Network Team in Waterford South City, will be filled.
