CDNT Sibshop camp 2025

The Social Work Team at Balbriggan CDNT recently ran a Sibshop for siblings of children with complex needs who were open to our Service. This is an annual event in Balbriggan CDNT’s Programme calendar and was a resounding success for eleven children and their families. The Programme mixed group work sessions and fun activities at a local Primary School, culminating in an enjoyable day trip to Malahide Castle Park. The Programme provided the children attending with an opportunity to engage with other children who have a shared experience of living with a sibling with complex needs in their family. The four-day event encompassed sporting activities, personal sharing of their journeys with their siblings and learning of new practical skills in baking, art design and Dodge Ball! By the end of the week, new friendships had been made and plenty of chocolate chip cookies eaten.
