HMSN Clinic

The HMSN clinic is a National Consultant led multidisciplinary service.  This service is for children up to 18 years who present with a hereditary motor and sensory neuropathy, including Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and other related neuropathies.  This group of disorders primarily affects the peripheral nervous system with clients presenting with muscle wasting and weakness affecting function and participation.  Children with HMSN conditions need an integrated pathway of care and this clinic works with a variety of other CRC specialist services including orthopaedics, Gait Laboratory and orthotics.  Support and advice to families, carers and local CDNTs is integral in ensuring that children are supported in their communities.
