Gait Analysis

The Gait Laboratory is one of the CRC’s specialist services and provides a 3-dimensional picture of how a person moves. This is combined with video analysis, clinical history, clinical examination, and other special investigations to provide a detailed assessment of a person with a walking disorder. The results of the assessment are reviewed by the multi-disciplinary team and a detailed report provided to the referring clinician. The service is a consultant only referral service.

MDT Team: Physiotherapist, Clinical Engineer, Gait Technologist, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

General Referral Criteria:

• Client must be > 4 years old.
• Able to cooperate with assessment which may take between 1.5hrs to 2hrs.

General Exclusion Criteria:

Non-ambulant, GMFCS level IV-V
